Page Title: BuyDirect® > Zero-Percent C of I Five-Day Hold Reminder

What you can do on this page:

This page advises that when purchasing a C of I by debiting your financial institution, the total balance of your C of I will be ineligible for redemption for five business days. (The funds can be used for purchasing securities.) This is necessary in the event your C of I purchase request is returned to us by your financial institution. Five business days following receipt of the debit purchase, your funds are once again eligible for redemption.

HELPFUL HINTS

The Zero-Percent C of I does not earn interest and is intended to be used as a source of funds for security purchases.

Primary Actions

  • Click "Submit" to complete the purchase and go to the Review page.
  • Click "Cancel" to discontinue the purchase process and go to your previous page.

Page Title: Current Holdings

What you can do on this page

The Current Holdings page lets you see the total amount of your current holdings. You may see a summary of securities for each security type by choosing the appropriate radio button and clicking "Submit".

Zero-Percent C of I displays the total balance of your C of I, then the amounts available for security purchase and redemption. If you have purchased a C of I by debiting your financial institution within the past five business days, the amount available for redemption will display as $.00. This is necessary in the event your C of I purchase request is returned to us by your financial institution. Your funds will once again be shown as available for redemption five business days following receipt of the debit purchase.

The radio button is inactive if you don't have any securities for a type listed.

You may also go to C of I Redemption, C of I History, Pending Purchases and Reinvestments, Linked accounts, Gifts, or granted View/Transact rights by selecting one of the links.

HELPFUL HINT: Links to Linked accounts, Gifts, and granted View/Transact rights are not available in a Minor account. In a Custom account, the link for Linked accounts is not available. In a Conversion account, only the Gifts and granted View/Transact rights links are available.

Primary Actions

  • Choose a radio button and click "Submit" to go to Current Holdings > Summary for the security type selected.
  • Choose the radio button "Available for security purchase" for Zero-Percent C of I and click "Submit" to go to BuyDirect®.
  • Choose the radio button "Available for redemption" for Zero-Percent C of I and click "Submit" to go to ManageDirect® > Redemption Request.
  • Click "Cancel" to return to your previous page.

Page Title: Current Holdings > Summary

What you can do on this page:

You can view your current holdings (and any applicable status) by the savings bond security type selected. Purchases are considered pending transactions prior to issuance of the security. If you purchased a gift, it will appear in your Gift Box. Securities with Pending Maturity status mature the following business day. (Note:  Gift bonds are not available in entity accounts.)

Primary Actions

  • Select a radio button and click "Select" to view the detailed information for a security.
  • Click "Cancel" to go back to your previous page.

Page Title: Current Holdings > Detail

What you can do on this page:

You can view and edit specifics about a security in your Current Holdings. From this page, you can choose to edit the security registration, redeem the security, or view all the security history for the individual security listed. (Note:  The security registration may not be edited in an entity account. All securities in an entity account carry a registration identical to the entity account name.)

HELPFUL HINT

If you have no securities currently eligible for redemption, the "Redeem" button will not appear. The "Edit" and "Redeem" buttons will not be displayed for securities with a Pending Maturity status.

Primary Actions

  • Click "Edit" to modify the registration information.
  • Click "Redeem" to submit a redemption request.
  • Click "Return" to go back to Current Holdings > Summary.

This page allows you to view and edit your current account information and provides valuable information about your account status. You may also access your Bank Information, Registration List, and History from this page.

What you can do on this page

This page allows you to edit specific fields. While in your primary account, you may place a Customer Hold on your account.

Please contact us to edit any unavailable fields, such as name or Taxpayer Identification Number. Only Customer Service can change these fields to maintain the security and accuracy of your account.

Primary Actions

  • Click "Submit" to return to Account Info showing your updated information.
  • Click "Cancel" to return to the previous page without changing your account.

Page Title: Account Info > Edit > Confirmation

What you can do on this page:

This page allows you to confirm that you want to place a hold on your account. You may also add comments on this page that you think will be helpful to us.

HELPFUL HINT

Placing this hold will prohibit access to your account and all transactions will be prohibited. Requests to sell or transfer securities may also be stopped, if we have not begun processing these requests.

Primary Actions

  • Click "Yes" to place a hold on your account; all activity on your account will be stopped. Customer Info will be displayed.
  • Click "No" if you do not want to place a hold on your account. You will be returned to Account Info.

What you can do on this page

You can send your questions and comments directly to TreasuryDirect using the Contact Us e-mail form. However, due to heavy volume, we temporarily are limiting this. For us to respond, your e-mail must concern a pending case and must state your case number in the subject line. Never send confidential information using e-mail.

  • Click "Send" to deliver your e-mail message.
